Julie Leduc
I recently graduated from the University of Birmingham’s LLB for Graduates, completing a fast-tracked law degree with a strong focus on commercial and international law. Originally from Montréal, Canada, my academic background in Civil Law and philosophy has equipped me with a critical and analytical mindset, enabling me to approach legal challenges from multiple perspectives.
Throughout my time at university, I embraced every opportunity to grow both personally and professionally. Outside of my studies, I’ve remained committed to community engagement and building new skills. I served as Treasurer for the university’s first-ever Women’s American Flag Football team, overseeing sponsorships and financial planning, and volunteered with Let’s Feed Brum, supporting individuals experiencing homelessness.
Now, I’m proud to be starting the next chapter of my journey as a Trainee Solicitor at Tenet. I’m incredibly thankful to be part of the Tenet Tribe, working alongside a team of experienced lawyers in an area of law I’m passionate about. I’m excited to support clients across the UK and internationally, bringing curiosity, commercial awareness, and cross-jurisdictional insight to every matter I work on.
Bilingual in French and English, I bring a global perspective and the ability to navigate diverse legal jurisdictions. I’m keen to apply my legal knowledge in a practical, commercially aware, and creative way.
Dispute resolution has been a consistent focus throughout my academic and professional journey. From earning a Civil Law certificate at the University of Montreal to studying international dispute resolution during my LLB, I’ve developed a strong foundation in navigating legal conflicts across jurisdictions.
Alongside my studies, I was actively involved in all four of the university’s advocacy competitions, Mooting, Debating, Negotiation, and Client Interviewing, where I developed my skills in legal argumentation and strategic communication. I was especially proud to be named Best Negotiator for 2023–2024, recognising my ability to resolve complex issues with a strategic and solution-focused mindset.
Through prior roles as a legal intern and assistant, I’ve gained hands-on experience in legal research, drafting, and analytical problem-solving skills, which I continue to build in my training with Tenet. I thrive in dynamic environments, balancing independent responsibilities and collaborative teamwork.
