Case study

The one with the
need for guidance on self-reporting & governance.

Advised a listed American manufacturer in relation to the merits of their internal investigation into concerns around actions of an agent in the Middle East where suspicions of bribery existed relating to a contract more than a hundred million dollars of value.

Following the investigation was concluded, advice was provided on the process of self-reporting to the relevant authorities in England.  This was due to a connection with the UK with respect of their agent.  The advice on self-reporting carefully considered a review of previous investigation material and then disclosing matters to the UK Authorities.  After meeting with the UK authorities, this led to a decision of no action being taken against the client.
