Tenet has recently received national recognition for its different approach to the traditional, professional services model.
Tenet’s founder, Arun Chauhan, has been highly commended in the Sole Practitioner of the Year category in the Law Society’s 2019 Excellence Awards, which is one of the highest accolades for law firms in England and Wales
A different way of working
When Tenet was founded in 2016, Arun wanted to demonstrate a fairer way for organisations to investigate, prosecute and prevent fraud within their business. This was achieved in two primary ways: flexible working for its team resulting in reduced costs for clients.
Arun found the costs of national and international law firms were often prohibitive for charities, housing associations or SMEs. This meant that receiving niche advice for fraud prevention and investigation was often out of reach – despite the vital difference this makes.
Flexible, part-time or remote working is still not typical in traditional legal practices, despite the need for this due to many lawyers having family commitments. Arun knew of previous colleagues who had since left the profession as they couldn’t find appropriate employment opportunities that supported the balance of complex work and family life. This highlighted how highly skilled talent was being lost from the legal sector.
As Tenet grew, it placed flexible working and quality of client delivery at the heart of its approach. This focus has not only improved employee morale, it has ensured client satisfaction.
Law Society Excellence Awards recognition
Law Society of England and Wales president Simon Davis said:
“In such uncertain times, we must never forget the immense contribution that solicitors make to society. Our work is indispensable to upholding the rule of law.”
“At the Law Society Excellence Awards, we come together to celebrate outstanding success in the sector.”
“There are more than 180,000 solicitors in England and Wales: to be highly commended is to be recognised as among the best of the best.”
“This fantastic achievement is only possible due to the efforts of every member of our growing team,” says Arun. “We’re really proud with the result, there were some fantastic people in the room.”
Thanks to the Tenet team
The fantastic achievement is a testament to the Tenet team. Their high calibre work has made this commendation possible, along with those who have supported the team along the way.
